Family owned in Old Jefferson

A Temporary Home Created From Personal Experience

Our family knows what it means to spend an extended time away from home and how much the right place can matter.

Our story

We understand life away from home

For many years, members of the Barry family traveled for work. More recently, we have traveled as caregivers for family members with complex medical needs. We understand the long days, changing plans, unfamiliar surroundings, and simple comfort of having a quiet place to return to.

Arlington Rentals was born out of that need. We wanted to create the kind of temporary home we looked for ourselves: clean, comfortable, fully furnished, and practical for everyday living. A place with a real kitchen, laundry, privacy, and people nearby who genuinely care whether your stay is going well.

Today, we welcome medical patients and caregivers, traveling professionals, families between homes, and anyone who needs a furnished monthly stay in the New Orleans area.

A colorful piece of Old Jefferson history

From casino nights to curtain calls

The stately Beverly Country Club began as a fashionable nightclub in the 1920s. By the mid-20th century, it had become one of Jefferson Parish’s best-known casinos. Its owners included New Orleans crime boss Carlos Marcello and New York mobster Meyer Lansky, giving the Beverly a permanent place in local mob lore.

In 1972, the mansion began a new chapter as the Beverly Dinner Playhouse. Professional actors performed light dramas, musicals, and comedies for audiences gathered for dinner and a show. Many of those actors made their temporary homes here at Arlington Rentals.

The Beverly burned on July 7, 1983, under circumstances that remain part of local legend. Arlington Rentals still carries a small connection to that colorful era. Decades later, we continue welcoming people who need a comfortable place to live while their work, care, or family brings them to New Orleans.
